    How long will it take to open an account?

    Once we have received the signed and completed application form, the account will be opened. This process will usually take up to 10 working days.

    For security reasons, each signatory will receive two separate e-mails. One will confirm details of the unique User ID and first half of password, and the other will confirm second half of the password. Both pieces of information are required before you can log on to the account.

    What other information must I supply?

    Durning the first time log-on process you will be asked to supply memorable data which will be used during further log-in attempts.

    2. Logging On For The First Time

    How do I log on for the first time?

    You will only be able to log on for the first time once you have received your User ID and both parts of your Password. These will be sent to you separately, after the account has been opened.

    Once you have received this information simply enter the details in the appropriate places on the Log On Screen and click 'Log On'.

    Why am I asked to change my password when I log on for the first time?

    Once the account has been opened you will be allocated a user ID and a Password by Beverley Building Society. For security reasons the first time you log on to the account you will be prompted to change your password. This process ensures that the account signatories are the only people who actually know what the Password is and are therefore the only people authorised to access the account.

    Please note that Beverley Building Society do not record details of this information on the computer system.

    Can I access the account at weekends and bank holidays?

    Yes, providing Internet connection is working, the account is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However if you make any transactions at the weekend or bank holidays they will not be completed until the next working day.

    Site Maintenance

    Please note Beverley Building Society will, from time to time, need to make changes to the Beverley Internet Client Account website for technical and/or maintenance reasons. Wherever possible this work will be carried out between the hours of 5.30-7.30pm on a Thursday.

    3. Making investments & withdrawals

    Why do I need a nominated account?

    You need a nominated account in order to be able to transfer funds to and from your Beverley Internet Client Account.

    The nominated accounts must be provided by UK clearing banks or building societies.

    In addition you will be asked to complete a Direct Debit form for your chosen nominated account. This is necessary because it gives Beverley Building Society the authority to be able to transfer funds from the nominated account at your request.

    Please check to ensure that any bank/building society you choose to nominate will accept a direct debit mandate requesting payments through the BACS system and originated by Beverley Building Society. This account must accept all forms of electronic payment, i.e. Faster Payment, CHAPS and BACS. You may want to check with your client(s) that their account will accept these types of payments.

    How do I set up a new nominated account or change an existing nominated account?

    In order to set up a new nominated account or change an existing nominated account you must write to us on letterhead stationery and complete a new direct debit mandate which we will send to you. This letter must be signed by two partners of the firm. The address to write to is:-

    Please allow 10 working days for your initial direct debit mandate to be recognised and set up by your nominated bank or building society. Any transaction attempted during the 10 working days will be rejected.

    Please check to ensure that any bank/building society you choose to nominate will accept a direct debit mandate requesting payments through the BACS system and originated by Beverley Building Society. This account must accept all forms of electronic payment, i.e. Faster Payment, CHAPS and BACS. You may want to check with your client(s) that their account will accept these types of payments.

    How do I transfer money into my Beverley Internet Client Account?

    Step 1: Set up a Client account

    In order to be able to transfer Money Into the Beverley Internet Client Account you must have set up individual nominated Client accounts.

    Step 2: Check to ensure you have sufficient Money In your nominated account

    When transferring Money Into the Beverley Internet Client Account please allow 3 working days for the funds to reach your account. Until the funds are 'available' they will be shown under the processed balance.

    Step 3: Complete the transaction

    Choose the 'Money In' option from the Menu bar. You must then enter the appropriate response in each of the following fields:-

    - Enter the amount you wish to transfer
    - Indicate whether this will be a one-off payment or a regular payment
    - State the date you wish the transfer to take place
    - Press 'submit payment'. You will then be asked to confirm the details you have entered. Once you have done this your transaction will be processed.

    Requests to transfer into the Beverley Internet Client Account received before 12pm on a working day will be processed the same day. Requests to transfer funds received after 12pm will be processed the next working day.

    How do I transfer money out of the Beverley Internet Client Account?

    The process for transferring money out of the Beverley Internet Client Account is similar to that used when transferring Money into the account.

    Step 1: Select the Client account from which you would like to transfer funds.

    Step 2: Complete the transaction

    Choose the 'Money Out' option from the Menu bar. You must then enter the appropriate response in each of the following fields:-

    - Enter the amount of funds you wish to transfer
    - Indicate whether this will be a one-off payment or a regular payment
    - State the date you wish the transfer to take place
    - Press 'submit payment'. You will then be asked to confirm the details you have entered. Once you have done this your transaction will be processed.

    How long will it take for funds to reach my account?

    When transferring funds from your nominated account to the Beverley Internet Client Account, please allow up to 3 working days for the funds to reach the account. Requests to transfer into the Beverley Internet Client Account received before 12.00pm on a working day will be processed the same day. Requests to transfer funds received after 12.00pm will be processed the next working day.

    4. Account balance & statements

    How do I check my client account balances?

    Whenever you log on to the account you will be presented with a summary of your clients accounts showing the available balance. Additionally, you can view a clients custom statement by selecting the 'continue' button.

    What is the difference between 'processed' and 'available' balance?

    The 'available' balance is the actual value of funds available to the account holder(s) for transfer purposes. The 'available' balance will always be displayed on your status bar at the top of the screen.

    The 'processed' balance is the total balance of the account and includes transactions which may not have been cleared. This is the balance upon which interest is earned on the account.

    When is the account balance updated?

    The account balance will be updated daily at midday on a working day.

    How do I view statements?

    Whenever you log on to the account you will automatically be presented with a summary statement showing all your clients accounts. To work with individual clients accounts select the 'continue' button for the client you wish to work with. This will display the 'mini-statement' for your client. Additionally, you can create a custom statement by selecting 'Custom Statement' from the 'Statement Type' option and then confirming your chosen 'From' and 'To' dates and clicking on 'Generate'.

    Please be aware that downloading your personal information will transfer your financial information from our computer onto your computer and therefore you should take appropriate steps in order to secure the information and prevent other users from accessing the file.

    What information is displayed on my statements?

    Your Beverley Internet Client Account statements will show the following information for each transaction:-

    - date of transaction
    - status of transaction i.e. cleared/pending
    - details of transaction
    - debit/credit indicator
    - amount of transaction
    - updated balance on account

    How do I download the custom statement?

    The Beverley Internet Client Account has been designed for use with personal financial management software. You can download your clients custom statements and import them into the financial management package Microsoft Money (not supplied) or within spreadsheet packages such as Microsoft Excel (not supplied) which support the Comma Separated Value (csv) format.

    Please be aware that downloading your personal information will transfer your financial information from our computer onto your computer and therefore you should take appropriate steps in order to secure the information and prevent other users from accessing the file.

    What do the various status descriptions mean on my list of pending transactions?

    Pending - A 'Money In' or 'Money Out' transaction has been actioned but has not yet been processed. The transaction may be cancelled or amended at this stage by clicking on the green icon to the left of the transaction.

    Processing - The transaction is being processed and cannot be cancelled or amended.

    Rejected - The requested transaction has not been processed and you should click on the green icon to the left of the transaction to investigate why. You should then delete this transaction and resubmit your request.

    Why does my new clients account details not appear in the 'Summary of Clients Account'?

    Any new clients accounts that are created will not appear immediately in the 'Summary of Clients Accounts'. The Summary will be updated for the next working day.

    5. Interest

    When will interest be received?

    Interest will be credited to your individual Beverley Internet Client Account on a monthly basis (Solicitors) or annually (Business Accounts) and on closure of the account.

    When is interest paid on investments and withdrawals?

    Subsequent investments made via BACS will earn interest from the day we receive the funds. For withdrawals interest will be earned until the day before you give notice to withdraw the funds.

    6. Change of details

    How do we change address or other details?

    If you change your address or wish to change any of the personal details for the signatories you must write to us on your company letterhead providing details of the changes. The letter must be signed by two partners of the firm.

    Once we have received this instruction your details will be changed automatically. You will receive confirmation of any change in writing.

    How do we change nominated account details?

    In order to set up a new nominated account or change an existing nominated account you must write to us on letterhead stationery and complete a new direct debit mandate which we will send to you. This letter must be signed by two partners. The address to write to is:-

    How do we add additional signatories to the account?

    In order to set up an additional signatory on the Beverley Internet Client Account you must write to us on your letterhead stationery and the letter must be signed by two partners.

    7. The Security of Your Account

    How secure is the operating environment?

    Beverley Interactive provides a safe and secure environment in which to operate the Beverley Internet Client Account.. The latest technology using full 128-bit encryption has been used to ensure online security.

    For security reasons each signatory will be provided with a unique User ID and Password. They will be required to input this information each time they use the account.

    Why do I need a User ID and Password?

    Whenever you want to operate the Beverley Internet Client Account online you must first enter details of your Unique ID and your password. This process is necessary for security reasons, so that the system can establish that it is dealing with you and nobody else.

    As a result this information must not be divulged to anyone else under any circumstances.

    Please note that Beverley Building Society can not be held liable for unauthorised use of your User ID/Password information. In order to prevent the unauthorised use of the account each signatory is advised to take the following precautions:

    - you are advised to destroy your original notification once the information has been memorised
    - if you need to make a note of this information please try to ensure that this is written in a way that is only recognisable by yourself i.e. in code, and ensure that the information is kept in a safe place.
    - take care to ensure that nobody else can observe you when you are using this information to gain access to your account
    - never store this information on your computer

    What happens if I lose the User ID/Password?

    If you suspect that your User ID/Password has been discovered by someone else or you have lost these details please send us an e-mail immediately advising us of this situation, to website@beverleybs.co.uk. Alternatively call 01482 881 510 (9am - 5pm Mon-Fri). Once we have established your identity you will be issued with a new User ID and password. These will be sent to you under separate cover via post.

    Can I change the User ID and Password?

    When you open an account you are automatically assigned a unique User ID. For security reasons you are not permitted to change your User ID at any time. As a result it is important to ensure that you memorise your User ID once you receive it.

    Although you are assigned a Password when you open the account you are required to change this when you log on for the first time. You can change your Password at any stage by selecting the 'Change Password' option after you have logged on. You will be asked to enter and confirm your new password.

    What must I do to protect my account and personal information?

    Whilst you are logged on to your account, all communications to and from our site are encrypted for your security. For extra security and peace of mind we recommend that you take the following additional precautions to help ensure that your personal information and access to your account remains secure:

    1. Use a strong password (consisting of both letters and numbers) which is easily remembered but cannot be easily guessed.
    2. Change your password on a regular basis. We advise evry 4 weeks.
    3. Never disclose your password to anyone else, and do not write it down.
    4. Ensure that you are not overlooked when logging on to your account.
    5. Do not leave your PC unattended when you are logged on to your account.
    6. Ensure that you log off correctly from your account and close your browser after logging off.
    7. Change your password IMMEDIATELY if you suspect that it is known to someone else.
    8. Use anti-virus software on your PC and keep it updated to minimise the risk of infection by new viruses. Contact your local computer retailer for advice on anti-virus software.
    9. Check the date and time of your last visit whenever you log on to your account. This information is provided for your added protection. Contact us immediately on 01482 881 510 (9am - 5pm Mon-Fri) if you suspect that your account has been accessed by anyone other than yourself.

    8. Contacting Beverley Building Society

    Can I contact the Beverley Building Society by e-mail?

    You are advised to contact us by e-mail wherever possible.

    You can send us an e-mail in two ways:

    - Use your own e-mail software (i.e. Outlook Express) and send this to website@beverleybs.co.uk
    - Select the 'Contact Us' option from the Menu Bar
    - When sending us information via e-mail please take care not to include any confidential information such as account numbers and User ID/Password details etc.

    How do I contact the Beverley Building Society by phone?

    You are advised to contact the Society by e-mail. If you do need to contact us by phone you can do so by calling 01482 881 510. Lines are open 8am-5pm Mon-Fri. For the purposes of training and in the interests of security your calls to and from us maybe recorded.

    9. Technical Assistance

    What do I need to access Beverley Internet Client Account?

    You will need a Windows PC capable of running Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or the latest version of the FireFox browser and an internet connection.

    Although you may be able to access Beverley Client Account Online using an Apple Macintosh (Mac), Beverley Client Account Online account was not originally designed for use with a Mac.

    The default settings of your browser software should allow access to our site without any problems. Because our site has high internet security the default browser settings allowing cookies, SSL2 & SSL3 must be selected.

    What if Beverley Client Account Online pages can't be displayed?

    If you cannot access the log on page, please reset your browser to its original settings. The method to do this can be found on your suppliers site.

    How do I tell what version of Internet Explorer I am currently using?

    Go to the browser Toolbar menu and click HELP / ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER.

    Do I need to download or install any other software to access Beverley Client Account Online?

    You do not need to install any other software, other than stated above, to manage your Beverley Client Account Online.

    Will I be able to access my account from other computers or am I locked to using the computer I setup my account on?

    No , you are free to use any computer anywhere in the UK to access your account as long as it has the minimum specification as described above, and the country you are in does not prohibit the use of 128-bit encryption.

    Can I access my account at weekends & bank holidays?

    Are there any times I may not be access my account?
